Privacy Policy for Cal Hub – Calorie Tracker

Cal Hub – Calorie Tracker (“the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you sign up or log in, we collect your email address (via direct email login or Google Sign-In).
  • Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to understand app usage and improve performance.
  • User-Submitted Photos: If you choose to upload photos for calorie and food recognition, those images are stored locally on your device. They are transmitted securely to our AI service provider for analysis but are not stored on our servers.
  • Subscription Information: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and entitlements. RevenueCat may collect non-personally identifiable purchase data (such as subscription type, expiration date, and transaction receipts) in order to provide and validate your subscription.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Authenticate your account and allow login.
  • Provide and improve the calorie tracking experience.
  • Analyze app usage to improve features and performance.
  • Process and validate subscription access.
  • Deliver AI-powered food recognition features.

3. Data Retention

  • Emails and analytics data are retained indefinitely unless you delete your account.
  • Photos remain only on your device. Temporary copies are sent to our AI service provider (via OpenRouter and OpenAI models) for analysis but are not retained on their servers.
  • Subscription data handled by RevenueCat is stored only as necessary to provide entitlement verification.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third-party advertisers.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Cal Hub – Calorie Tracker offers monthly and annual subscriptions with a free trial. Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and billed through your Apple App Store account. We do not access or store your payment details.

6. Children’s Privacy

This app is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption during transmission. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Your Choices

  • You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your email and associated data from our system.
  • You may also manage or cancel your subscription via your Apple App Store account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted within the App and take effect upon posting.
