Add fix for infinity conditions to implement hard wall potentials in RPY flux

The way gradient operation for the external potential is set up in the RPY flux will cause issues when implementing hard wall potential.

To clarify: the code will be setup to error out if an infinity is encountered, but we would like to relax this restriction in future.
