Implementing voice to text and text to voice

I'm trying to implement the code usage from here https://www.androidhive.info/2012/01/android-text-to-speech-tutorial/

to add voice control and text to speech to give a more interactive feeling
But I'm failing to set the output correctly as this could cause for a text view or edit text how do I get the output from the brain_answer intent

Someone please help
