10/25/25

over the last month we've been spending a lot of time in the basement at luck dragon, a sort of reckoning with what it means to run a synth business for a couple decades. below is the gold we found amidst the not-gold, gifts from the past that did not end up in the recycling bin or were successfully begged to be taken away by anyone with a kind heart.

as objects depart and find a way to their right place, we find space in our minds to expand. or maybe not so much expand, but at least make some room.

shipping costs will be added at checkout. the really weird stuff we cannot ship internationally. get in touch if you're really into something and we'll figure it out. e-mail help@monome.org.

prices subject to change. likely to drop, but might rise suddenly as sentimentality strikes, like pulling a totally-still-good-i-think length of wood from a burning bonfire. click images to see high resolution for closer inspection, we assure all products are legitimate. shipping begins wednesday 10/29.

norns shield kit

new old stock. these originally arrived from the factory with defective encoders, which were sent back to get replaced. they're good now. these were discontinued and they'll never be more from us. though we did open source the files, so they will live on past all of us, in a way.

includes circuit, enclosure, screen cover, hardware. does not include raspberry pi. we suggest the 3B+. you'll also need an SD card and power adapter.

two variations: 210330 (CS4720 codec) and 211028 (CS4721 codec). the later might have noise issues when using a Pi 4 but can be addressed with tape.

norns shield three pack, mildly busted

for the DIY enthusiast. these should be fine except they have bad encoders or keys or something pretty easily fixable for someone with soldering experience.

norns shield screen cover 25 pack

maybe you have a ton of shields or are doing a workshop or

mythical norns grey silicone knob and key set

from a very tiny prototype run, only three sets available. you may have seen kelli's edition of one white norns with grey knobs. one could achieve that with these and some white spray paint. and/or they're also just a sort of talisman. an ambition of lightness.

around 2000 selco black knobs and blank knob caps

DR110-006BLACK PUSH-ON KNOB 11MM
C110BLACK CAP PLAIN

from the norns kits. no line on the cap. maybe you're making a 2000 knob controller. or a batch of some new design. we paid around $1500 for what's left here. turn our salvage into your future dreams.

greyscale one twenty eight once owned by trent gill

so trent and i give each other too much gear (i probably have 7 mangroves) and i got this one back when trent moved away from NYC. it's surely blessed with musical genius, and still has the top row sticker which probably indicates the mlrV effects that were in heavy use. give yourself an edge in the competitive bandcamp landscape.

flipper

at luckdragon we hosted several computerfolkcraft gatherings, where palomakop used a flipper to tangle with dave any my lora experiment. i later got one but have too many other aspirations that come before being an elite hacker.

canon 28-135mm

we shot many of the early monome videos with this attached to our canon 5D, so it's seen a lot of magic moments and also a comic amount of frustration. i don't know where the hood came from but it's there now. here are some specs. great condition.

aluminum with two hundred fifty six holes

10.2" x 10.2" x 0.25" anodized aluminum. maybe it's art. or maybe a vent cover. or maybe if you're pouring a concrete floor it'd make a cool huge drain cover. generally i wouldn't suggest trying to use them as replacement parts as they're not totally pristine. it's hilarious how expensive these were to make but let's not talk about that.

various walnut

unfinished great condition walnut enclosures for 2011 arc four and arc 2 and 2012 arc four and two fifty six. would work well as replacement parts (after finishing, we previously used teak/linseed) or if you'd like to make a matching custom controller. cut from pennsylvania black walnut by our friend jay on his home-made CNC machine way back when we were young and idealistic.

9 pounds of nuts and washers

this photo doesn't look like much but there are tons. M7, standard eurorack pot, also the norns encoders. you know them. maybe you have a business that requires more of them. or maybe you need to fill something with 9 pounds of metal, like an uncomfortable bean bag.

a couple hundred wifi dongles

we don't have a USB hub that has enough ports to use all of these at once, so we're going to pass them along. or the real story is that we got these and then realized the chipset wasn't supported on norns unless we rebuilt the kernel which is really annoying. but they should work fine. particularly if you have a dongle resale store and basically want these for almost free.

around twenty five 5V power supplies

5V 2.6A center positive IEC connector. maybe you help at a hackerspace that needs these?

abandoned dev boards

ezra and i never started devboardresale.com and i've been holding on to these for too long now. lot includes what's shown and a bunch more accessories and cables etc. blackfin and avr32 from aleph prototyping. chip pro, hifiberry, cm3, pine64 from pre-norns investigations. random pi and pi zero, arduinos. st programmer from crow. tons of prototyping utility that just needs a home.

sixty six thousand white LEDs

osram KW DELPS2.RA-TIVH-FK3PM3-Z555 is a nice white LED we used for one of the early 2020s grid editions. sealed reels. if you make electronic things and like white light, our salvage is new and will save you a ton on your BOM cost (really, check the retail value).

realistic 4 channel stereo microphone mixer

for fans of the minimal mixers thread, we were given this (or more honestly, begged to take it from an estate our friends were cleaning out). new in box, never used. the sticker on box says $27.95 so we're just going with that in an effort to fight inflation.

2025 arc b-stock super deal

just because you waded through all this other treasure and we have a stack of b-stock here's a little bonus discount on the already discounted price for our newest thing.

turntable lab hard case

at calarts shortly after we all arrived, the weird music people decided to all get together in a theatre and... make sound together. i brought a technics 1200 and a stack of thrift store records, that's it. it was maybe the second time i hung out with ezra. a few months later i had a working prototype grid. we live in the mountains now and the turntable does not travel, it stays put. but this case is rad. might be a bit to ship.

altar

kelli cain
2014
porcelain, wheel-thrown and hand built, bisque fired
5" x 2.8" x 1.8"

pressure fits in an isms modular case, likely will work in others. this particular altar has not been put into service, but has been waiting patiently.

very limited edition, 1 of 3. others NFS. 100% of proceeds go directly to artist.

aleph

new old stock, from 2013. assembled from wandering components between various boxes, tested and working perfectly. there is a longer story, but these are very rare. the result of a vision, a huge amount of labor, various catastrophes and miracles.

thank you for looking. tell your friends. wish us luck.
