The first stable release of Morphix, a universal file converter that runs entirely on your machine. No uploads. No accounts. No telemetry.

🔧 System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Disk: 200 MB for Morphix + optional ~440 MB for FFmpeg/LibreOffice
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM minimum
  • WebView2: Pre-installed on Windows 10/11

⚙️ Optional Components

For full conversion capabilities, install these via Help → Install Optional Components within the app:

LibreOffice ~340 MB Microsoft Office formats (DOCX, PPTX, ODT) → PDF

Both are optional — Morphix offers 200+ routes that work without them.

⚠️ First-Run Notes

  • Windows SmartScreen may show a warning since this build is unsigned (code signing planned for future versions). Click More info → Run anyway to proceed.
  • LibreOffice install requires administrator permission (UAC prompt). FFmpeg install does not.
  • All your files and settings stay on your machine.

🐛 Known Limitations

  • DOCX/PPTX/ODT → PDF conversions take ~5–10 seconds per file due to LibreOffice startup overhead. v1.0.1 will add daemon mode for ~3–5× speedup on batch conversions.
  • HEIC source format requires an FFmpeg build with libheif support (most pre-built FFmpeg distributions include this).
