Building fails

Hi, I try to run

python setup.py build

As described in the instructions which are in INSTALL.

But it fails with a:

...
  File "/home/dev/EPFImporter/MySQL-python-1.2.4b4/distribute_setup.py", line 116, in _build_egg
    raise IOError('Could not build the egg.')
IOError: Could not build the egg

Python v 2.7.6, Ubuntu 14.04, mysql 5.5.57

Any ideas or workarounds appreciated.
