Hi ! First of all, you're a legend, thanks a lot for this driver.

I'd like to install it on Linux (mint) but seems like the procedure has changed. I'm asking Gemini for help so i'll compile etc, but is there a way to make it so next kernel updates don't break the install ? I don't know much about all this, but AI is talking about a previous version with install_dkms ?

(edit: sorry, it's not really an enhancement, nor is this a bug but there is no mendatory log file so...)

Okay, it seems Linux compilation is broken too. I'll try to rewind the version to one that was working, before folder reorganization

So, just as an update for those who come after, here's how i manage to install :

1. put all files from /legacy/common into /linux

sed -i 's|../legaploytec.h|ploytec.h|g' pcm.c
make clean && make
sudo cp snd-usb-xonedb4.ko /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/sound/usb/
sudo depmod -a

2. plugged DB4

sudo modprobe snd-xonedb4

3. to make sure it worked

sudo dmesg | tail -n 10

Every kernel update will break the driver so, good post it to keep for whenever it happens :

cd ~/snd-xonedb4/linux
make clean && make
sudo cp snd-usb-xonedb4.ko /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/sound/usb/
sudo depmod -a

This should be fixed in latest version.

Have you thought about submitting your work on these drivers to the upstream linux kernel. That would be cool to have these drivers work out of the box. You're doing the lord's work keeping these great machines running.
