Describe the Bug

Hey there,

I've had problems with both drivers being installed - hence I formatted my Mac completely and reinstalled with HAL driver only - I've got problems with clicks/ and pops with the HAL driver.

Please explain - how to change settings of the driver (like sample rate / URB / etc.
The documentation in wiki/readme does not state that.

Also thank you so much for the new HAL driver - its much easier to handle installation!

Also I cannot read the ´live logged´ logs - it states "=== Messages dropped during live streaming (use log show to see what they were)" -- where do I type log show?

-- Question: - should X-LINK midi of for example DB4 (connected Xone K3) be tunneled to the DB4s midi port aswell ?

Maybe documentation can be updated?

Also: thank you so much for all your work on this project - you are putting so much work into something in think allen&heath should be doing if they used ploytec sound cards and Ploytec isn't there anymore - thank you !

Hi there,

I can see PloytecUSB is absent in the logs. That has been part of a major refactoring greatly improving stability. And the logging "messages dropped" problem has also been fixed a couple of days ago.

MIDI should be fully working, and thus X-LINK as well. The HAL driver is currently hardcoded to 80 frames per packet, 2 URB's and 96000 Hz samplerate.

I've added a nuke-legacy-drivers.command to clean all older versions (that have been renamed) that may be around. Make sure none of these commands return anything ploytec related:

ls -l /Library/LaunchDaemons
ls -l /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL
ls -l '/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers'

This is rapid development, please make sure you're on the latest version before you post issues.

When I get around it I'll update documentation too.

Sry for not making sure that I'm running most current driver.
Now I did so (unistalled --> reboot --> nuke legacy drivers --> reboot --> reinstalled driver --> reboot --> plugged in DB4)

Now I've got the following Problem`s:

First of all: audio input (from DB4 to Mac) is just working fine (pristine audio)
(I checked all 8 channels)

Midi is not working at all.

Audio output:

-when nothin is outputting to the mixer (no audio software opened and just USB-connected)
stuttering audio is present at mixers USB inputs channel 1, 3 and 4. (it seems like the streams between the channels got all jumbled up)

• when outputting to the mixer via Traktor 4 or Ableton 12 or Mac system sounds for example to channel 1 and 2 (0 & 1)
  signal is present in form of a stuttering noise

• when outputting to just channel 1 (0) the input signal is present in the same noise stuttering manner on both inputs of the stereo channel.

in both cases when outputting to the mixer: input level of mixer is always near full scale, independent of the output level of the computer.

Problem is independent of Buffer size Settings.
