CH8 - Problems with DatePicker

Following the book so far and I am having a lot of trouble with DatePicker, because the way that it's used in this chapter leads to an undefined object message when logging
console.log("Age: " + scrapbook.date.toLocaleDateString());

Listing 8.11 to 8.16.
NativeScript Version is 3.3.1
I've actually made it work with this code:

var page = args.object;
var g = ["Female", "Male", "Other"];
age = page.date;
age = new Date();

gender: 0,

It only worked when I explicitly defined the title, gender and date. This is my version of Listing 8.16

PS: the var result is for debugging, it's not necessary.

Second, you’ll notice that the scrapbook observable didn’t specifically define the gender and date
properties that were bound to the picker elements. Because of JavaScript’s dynamic nature, you don’t
have to specify them (but if you do, it won’t hurt).

but when click 'done', exception throw:

TypeError: Cannot read property 'toLocaleDateString' of undefined
