x_SkuMeterCategory VS costInPricingCurrency :: Discrepancies

As you might have heard I'm moving our dashboards from the old Azure Export (Usage Detail on CSV) to the new FinOps Hub (FOCUS on Parquet).

I noticed a discrepancy in some Subscriptions and I investigated.
It turns out meterCategory = SaaS is billed differently.

This is the old Azure export to CSV:

And this is the new Azure FOCUS export to Parquet:

As you can see all the other Meter Categories up and under (Redis Cache, SQL Database, Storage, etc...) are all the same so, yes, I'm comparing the exact same data.

So, which is reporting the real data?

Well, it turns out it's the new FOCUS 🎉

So all good. This is not a bug.

I'm gonna report this to Microsoft.

Can this be related to the 5th day of recalculation in the next month?

Oh fuck, I found the bug.

meterCategory = SaaS is always billed in CHF for us, whatever we use costInBillingCurrency (CHF) or costInPricingCurrency (USD)

I think this is pretty bad for the old Azure Export.

If this happens with all SaaS products this is the last nail in the coffin for the old Azure Export.
