Remove dependency on MCP?

Hi!

Interesting idea. I have been waiting for this for a long time already. Especially since Visual Studio supports this out-of-the-box already.

But why is MCP needed? Can't it just use/expose VSCode tools/APIs similar to other extension like "Language Server Tools for Copilot"?

MCP is often disabled in Enterprise environments.

I think this also is related to #25 . I am having problems to use DebugMCP across multiple open VSCode windows. It always controls the one I first opened.
If it were integrated into the extension host of VSCode itself instead of relying on a shared server it would make more sense to me.
But I am not sure how feasible that is.
