/etc/microshift/lvmd.yaml ignored by bootc based install

Hi

I made an Anaconda installer ISO based on the 4.20 bootc image. But topolvm fails even though a /etc/microshift/lvmd.yaml file is created and the topolvm-lvmd-0 configmap content is the default found in /usr/lib/microshift/manifests.d/001-microshift-topolvm/. Is this expected behaviour? I know I can create kustomize manifests to override this in /etc/microshift/manifests.d/, but is this the expected way to do it?

@randomlygeneratedname1, can you provide more information about the failure? Ideally, sos-report from the host.

In general, TopoLVM currently requires an unallocated LVM volume group named myvg1 . What's the LVM configuration on the host currently?

Sorry, I somehow missed #24 .

I used kustomize files in /etc/microshift/manifests.d/ to override the default config under /usr but it would be much better if one could use /etc/microshift/lvmd.yaml instead.

As a start maybe you could align the config in the default kustomize under /usr... with what you have in /etc/microshift/lvmd.yaml.default (i.e. VG name as microshift both places instead of myvg1 in the kustomize yaml and microshift in the lvmd yaml)? And also add a comment in that file that it doesn't apply to bootc based installs? You could also make template kustomize files under /etc/microshift/manifests.d/ for users to override.

I guess you can close this one, since it's covered in #24
