[Feature Request]: Better map filters in Fdroid version

I first wanted to file a feature request to hide offline nodes in the map but then found #3219. However in my installed app (version 2.7.12 FDROID) this feature is not available despite being merged months ago. After looking at the changes I noticed that the changes were only made to google/java/com/geeksville/map/ui/map.

Is there a reason that this feature was only added to the google version? If not, it would be great if the Fdroid version would get this feature too.

Why should this be added?

Filtering nodes on the map should be available on all versions of the app.

If you search for other fdroid or osmdroid issues you'll find that fdroid maps are no longer going to be maintained in the same way as osmdroid is archived and no longer maintained.

Unfortunately this leaves us needing to replace osmdroid.
