Seeed Xiao nrf - Not recovering from brownout condition

I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression from details given regarding firmware v1.12, that a repeater suffering from loss of power due to a low battery should now be able to recover without a physical reset.

I have a couple of solar nodes that I was hoping I would no longer have to visit in order to get them back on air once the battery had recharged enough to reboot i.e. had reached at least 3.3v. Testing has unfortunately proved this to be untrue.

Is the documentation incorrect on this? Or is it just my understanding that is flawed?

I’ve built a few that also brown out when connected in parallel on the battery. But a brownout is a hardware condition, not something that software can recover from in most scenarios, as far as I know. Which changelog are you referring to exactly? (On mobile right now, but it might help to include it.)

There might be exceptions on hardware, that might support brownout detection and such, but i don't think its the case for most devices we use(?)

Voltage Wake (LPCOMP + VBUS)

Configures the nRF52's Low Power Comparator (LPCOMP) before entering SYSTEMOFF
Enables USB VBUS detection so external power can wake the device
**Device automatically wakes when battery voltage rises above recovery threshold or when VBUS is detected**

The last line above appears to indicate that once the battery recovers to a level above the 3.3v threshold, the device should power back up........

"Seeed Studio XIAO nRF52840 (xiao_nrf52) | Yes | Yes | Yes" - indicates that the device in question is supported.
