Tracker Proxy installed on separate server than Matomo server

Is it possible to have a Server where you keep your Tracked Domain alongside the Tracker Proxy plugin folder tracked-domain.com/matomo/ separate than the Matomo server?

I have a Server 1 that hosts the Matomo dashboard.

And I have a Server 2 that hosts all the tracked domains sites, including tracked-domain.com/matomo/

Is it possible to run it this way where where you have them on separate servers?

Or do you need to have the tracked domain alongisde the /matomo/ tracker proxy folder on same Server as the Matomo dashboard?
