Unable to append to the toolbar

While looking through adding buttons to the toolbar to find out how to add buttons to the tool bar I have found that I am able to get a return from $(Trix.config.toolbar.content) is there a diffrent way I need to call this in the gem?

EDIT: I didn't realize this was the ruby repo (whoops), but I believe it should be the same with using editor instead of config

trix.editor  // is a Trix.Editor instance

basically, it's just editor instead of config
