Description
Hello, amazing project. I didn't know about it (but should have!) I started a similar project here to list out the completion of openstreetmap, wikidata and wikipedia pages for these places. Now the script can read from that same excel file thanks to a volunteer the other day.
Anyways I was wondering if your project could be enhanced to have a popup URL key. so that a link could be collected that would bring a visitor to the map and pop open the popup at page load. (which could help by making a URL available elsewhere such as in these indexes my gizmo is generating)
example like: https://watchice.org/?popup_ID=NRLKCMI would cause the facility encoded NRLKCMI to pop open. (at least some of the sites on the sheet Detention FY25 have detention center codes like "NRLKCMI" although, of course, that data is incomplete and i don't think the set of complete codes is available right now.
another unique key could be used as well but i didn't see one that stood out in the code. Maybe even the postal addresses (html encoded or truncated or something). i think zip codes might not work because of overlaps as a key.
in the end i was thinking, it would be nice to generate a set of URLs about each of these places (one set per site), such as to the global detention project individual location URLs, and making a working link for the watchice map, would be the perfect complementary thing to include . (and this in turn could be used to generate links for wikipedia pages that ought to be added eventually for each detention facility). more or less my thought process.
lastly this place seems to have more keys to the locations - https://detentionreports.com/ but i am not sure where they came from.
