Description
Hey linuxmobile,
as I mentioned in discord I'll provide some feedback over here :).
1: Login
Currently you have to grab your token instead of being able to log in via username & password (+ possibly 2fa), it would be quite awesome if this could be implemented somehow.
2: Direct Messages
Currently the DM list is very badly organized (not sorted by recent OR alphabetically either) and also if you have group chats for example, you will only see the first word it seems.
As you can see in the image, I got 2x @ Lemmy even though those are both group chats.
3: Search
It would be nice to have a way of searching through direct message contacts (not messages itself, that's for later perhaps). So you don't have to scroll through the whole list of people you have interacted with so far.
4: UI
This is a bit nitpicky but I do feel like it would be great if you could somehow resize the font size in oxicord itself.
Perhaps a nice addition would be an mention indicator (basically for unread DMs or just mentions overall)
5: Config
I read in the readme that you're currently working on a config file, in there it would be really awesome if we could perhaps manage the keybinds ourselves. That for example would mean that people that are used to (let's say) emacs, can use their own keybinds for up, down, search etc etc
6: Chat
It seems like I'm unable to use / commands from discord bots (usually, you'd see a list with the available ones) see image
Maybe it would be nice to have chat messages grouped (let's say a user posts 3-4 messages, it always displays the username above each of them instead ouf just grouping them).
Not sure if it's possible but perhaps displaying/adding/removing reactions could be handy, especially if servers need you to react with something to accept the rules or whatever
Blocked messages are getting displayed even though a user is blocked - should display as either Blocked message or not at all (which is probably the better choice imo)
Markdown is a weird one, not sure how to properly approach that one but maybe you can figure out something there. See image
The markdown was: italic, bold and codeblock - in that order
It would be cool if we could display either user id or username (where the id, is the one you use to add people, the name is the one that gets displayed in chat)
7: Default keybinds
While this could be mitigated by the custom keybinds in config (see 5), I feel like I should mention this. Ctrl+C to close the program is a bit rough given people are used to ctrl+C/V in chat apps :).
8: Copy & Paste
While we're talking about Ctrl+C, I was wondering if it would be possible to copy an image (discord does provide them as links iirc so perhaps ther could be a way?)
9: Colors
The colors a severly different than my usual terminal colors (not in terms of colors itself but where which one is getting used)
I might add more stuff to it when I find something :).
greetings, Lysec ❤️
