No graphic output on login screen

Bug description

After updating today, upon boot and after logout, there is no graphic output either from the graphics card or onboard cpu graphics. I can still type in password and log in. Upon login everything works as normal but after the mint emblem finishes the screen goes blank and monitor reads no source.

Expected behavior

unit would boot to login screen. log out would go to login screen.

I have ensured all of my drivers are up to date, and have run reconfigure on lightdm with no effect.

Can confirm this. Having the same issue since yesterday on 6.11.0-28-generic. With a AMD 6700 xt. Even though the screen is blank, you can still enter your password and it will boot just fine. Restarting lightdm will cause the issue again. I don't see any errors/warnings in /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log or /var/log/lightdm/seat0-greeter.log. Happy to provide logs if needed.

Using nomodeset does not give this issue and will show the greeter just fine.

Look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/messages or run dmesg command to find your amdgpu issue.
Maybe try booting an older unaffected kernel until ubuntu upstream fixes their broken kernel/amdgpu driver

@leigh123linux Would you happen to know which kernel(s) would be unaffected? The odd thing is that I didn't install a newer kernel when the problem started occurring. I have tried booting into older kernels (6.11.0-17 and 6.8.0-50) but still the problem remains.

There is a interesting warning in Xorg.0.log:

FYI @Joshhod @leigh123linux it seems that the libpciaccess0 package is the culprit, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpciaccess/+bug/2115574. Try downgrading the package: sudo apt install libpciaccess0=0.17-3build1.

Issue is unrelated to slick-greeter or lightdm. Guess this issue could be closed.
