Change of synonymy #23

@karilint

Description

@karilint

As a taxonomic coordinator,
I would like to change the taxonomy of Alopex lagopus to Vulpes lagopus and make Alopex a synonym of Vulpes.

A previous taxonomy of Alopex lagopus https://academic.oup.com/mspecies/article/doi/10.1644/0.713.1/2600806
is: order Carnivora, family Canidae, subfamily Caninae, genus Alopex

However, McKenna and Bell (1997) included Alopex as a congeneric taxon of Vulpes.
Order Carnivora, family Canidae, subfamily Caninae, genus Canis.
Therefore, Alopex Kaup, 1829 becomes a synonym of Vulpes Frisch, 1775 and Alopex lagopus has an accepted name of Vulpes lagopus.

See how this is managed in https://www.itis.gov/servlet/SingleRpt/SingleRpt?search_topic=TSN&search_value=622025#null
and https://www.departments.bucknell.edu/biology/resources/msw3/browse.asp?id=14000865

Acceptance Criteria:

  • added synonym is linked to existing taxon
  • synonym is added to the synonym-table in the database
  • the same synynom can't be added twice
  • synonym is visible in the taxon's page
  • taxon is searchable via the synonym

Ready when:

  • Feature is implemented according to the Acceptance Criteria and it works as intended
  • Documentation regarding the feature is written
  • Code follows the agreed styling (creation of styling file is in this story)
  • Code is reviewed (by 2 individuals other than the coder)
  • Feature is merged into main and is on stating
  • Feature is in production
