To use these tutorials, you'll want to have the following software installed:
- MCell 3.2.1 (MCell Download, :ref:`mcell_install`)
- CellBlender 1.0 RC3 (CellBlender Download, :ref:`cellblender_install`)
- Blender 2.70a (Blender 2.66a, 2.67, 2.68, 2.69, 2.70 should mostly work as well)
- A text editor (gedit, vim, emacs, etc.)
- Some graphing and analysis software (matplotlib (with Python and numpy) or Grace are recommended)
Although Windows is now a supported platform, some of the more advanced tutorials are still geared towards users of linux (e.g. Ubuntu) or OS X. Some basic familiarity with the command line will be useful in later sections. There are many tutorials online that explain the basics, like this one. Although no previous knowledge of Blender or Python is required, the goal of these tutorials is not to teach these topics. There are already many good resources available to learn about these subjects (e.g. Python tutorials and Blender tutorials).
