​[Question / Feature Request] Add a search bar to the Media Library UI

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for this amazing bundle! I have successfully integrated it into an EasyAdmin project and it works flawlessly.

The context & the issue:
As our project grows, we have accumulated a very large amount of files. When opening the media library, it is becoming quite difficult to find a specific file. Paginating through hundreds of images is no longer efficient for our users.

The question:
Has anyone already implemented a search feature (e.g., a simple search input) to filter the media library by filename or title?

If so, what would be the recommended approach or best practice to achieve this?

• Is there already a hook/event I missed that could make this easier?

Also, could a native search bar be considered as a feature for a future release? I believe it would be highly beneficial for any project managing extensive media libraries.

I perfectly understand that it is a bit uncomfortable to navigate through many pages before finding the right asset.

The admin controllers all call the method OriginalStorage::listMediasPaginated(), which has a $filter parameter, a callable that can be used to filter media files, as it is for example done in the Sylius MediaGridProvider:

I assume that implementing a filtering facility in the admin bridges should go the same way. This could perfectly be a nice feature for a future release. It must however meet the following requirements:

• on-par features among bridges: the search feature must be implemented in all the bridges
• ability to disable the search feature using a configuration directive
• seamless integration and usage: the UI must feel easy to use and remain simple

Thank you so much for your detailed and helpful response! Pointing out the $filter parameter in OriginalStorage::listMediasPaginated() is exactly the hint I needed. It makes perfect sense.

I will definitely explore this approach. Due to my immediate project deadlines, I will start by implementing a quick local override for my specific backend and UI.

However, I am keeping your requirements in mind (handling all bridges, adding the configuration option, and keeping the UI seamless). I will see if I can work on a proper Pull Request for the bundle to implement this feature globally when I have a bit more time.
