Monitor tab doesn't recognize extra buttons on Elecom Deft

I've tried using the HID Remapper on an Adafruit Feather version of the HID Remapper, but I can't get the extra Fn buttons to show up on an Elecom Deft, not the pro version. The buttons work through Elecoms own software when I plug the device straight into my computer, but not through the HID Remapper.

Looking through this tracker, it seems to be common with Elecoms devices as it sounds exactly like #75, #18 #54, and #237

In general you can handle this with custom usages.

If you dump the report descriptor we can probably add built-in quirks for it.

This is the descriptor after the kernel "fixup" (you can see it correctly describes 8 buttons).

I can probably guess what it looked like before the fixup, but can you dump the raw descriptor from the device? Temporarily blacklist the hid-elecom module or use some tool that talks to the device directly.

My bad, interacting with usb devices at this level is fairly new to me.

But I also tried finding it the other way:

From HIDRAW, I recorded each button click in sequence: Left, right, middle, back, forward, fn1, fn2, fn3

I added the extra buttons using the same vendorid, usage, size and position as for the elecom huge, just changing the productID to 018d, and that made the mouse work on windows. :-)

Yeah, the descriptor is identical to the 056e:011c one, which we kind of suspected based on how the Linux kernel handles them. I will add the ID.
