Sorry, I know this is lazy and bad practice to not split these all into separate requests..
I have used the Segment Editor a lot recently and have some major usability complaints.
I do really appreciate all your hard work that has gone into making free plugins, I don't want to discount that at all.
Issues:
- Disable the "Start time must be less than end time" "feature" that deletes my input. (example, I am currently adding 'preview' segments that start after the outro, and if I paste the timestamp from when the outro end as the start time for the preview, my input is instantly deleted. I then have to
- Sometimes when switching the subtitles or audio language, the video just gets stuck and never loads. I don't have this issue outside of segment editor
- Using the Segment Editor affects watch history in Jellyfin. So if I edit something I just watched, it'll usually mark it as unwatched, or if I seek in the segment editor video and stop in the middle, then go home, jellyfin says I left off in the middle of that episode and should continue watching... Just selecting an episode to edit, and never interacting with the player still loads the video from the beginning, resetting watch status. Maybe also add an easy toggle to disable autoloading videos, since sometimes I'm just editing a bunch of episodes without even using the video player.
- When using the search, it searches the seasons as well as show names. Clicking a season brings you to a weird player view that doesn't seem to do anything, and has no way to go up to the corresponding show.
- Items per page choice doesn't seem to save between sessions (I am using the same pc without clearing cookies and it still lost it, but haven't tested it again after it lost it the first time)
- Paste feature doesn't seem to do anything.
Requests:
- Add a 'next episode' button
- Add a 'previous episode' button
- Make the 'Back' button go up a level. (when viewing an episode, it takes you to the episode list instead of whatever you previously viewed. Example, I use the dropdown to switch episodes multiple times. Every time I click the back button, it just goes in reverse order through all the episodes again, and there is no other way back to the library view.
- Add a 'Home' button that takes you back to the root library view
- Add an 'Undo' button (refreshing the page usually works to undo edits if I didn't save, but pretty annoying and it wipes all edits instead of the most recent change)
- Add a 'start' and 'end' button to each segment that will modify the time to 0 if clicking start, and clicking end would change the end time to match however long the video is. This would be much more convenient than having to click and drag the little sliders.
- When modifying the start time to something later than the end time, bump the end time to one frame later than the start time, or keep the duration and just shift end time an equal amount the start time was shifted.
- Under the video, display the current time and total time in seconds as well as H:M:S, since seconds are used for all the segments below
- When viewing the list of shows, add an alphabet jump section. ( so, in english, 26 buttons, to jump to the the corresponding shows that start with that letter)
- In the library views, add display options like "list view" so I can load way more results and not have to scroll through massive pictures
- When adding a new "Preview" segment, set the default start time to match the end time of the outro if the video player timestamp isn't relevant or the video player isn't loaded...
- Add a way to shrink the video player? It's usually just to quickly see when a scene changes, and it'd be nice to not have to scroll so much.
- Add snapping to the click/drag sliders. (This would be significantly more convenient for things like adding preview segments that run from the end of the outro to the end of the video)
