Following discussion with Nahid, the following engine seems possible at this point.
This document will form an initial landscape from which the proposed initiative can grow.
Digital Spark - initial working title, what it says on the tin - is intended to be a platform to gamify enterprise for recent but unemployed UK graduates. It would be powered by £20 monthly subscriptions, afforded from the £400 monthly UC provided by the UK government.
But what content do we need to generate?
The following are key headings, which we can explore. Very likely that pivoting will occur on this journey.
- Talent Search & Capture
- Gamers into Enterprise
- Building Digital Assets
- Tokenizing Digital Assets
- Instant Skill Library - WYSIWYG
- Shadowing, Mentoring
- Boomer Handshake
- Retro Prizes
- UC Support
- Skill Guilds w Guild Leaders
- Passion Fuse
To note.
Boomer Handshake - a viable idea generated when Steven Bartlett interviewed Daniel Priestley on YouTube
Boomer Handshake - Facebook groups for SMEs exist, arising out of the old Ecademy community. This is now an ageing Boomer community.
Boomer Handshake - Possible Participants
Mike Turner was a particular contact of innov8tor3, one of the very few who got what innov8tor3 could offer. Mike agrees there is an opportunity to blend Boomers with smart young, tech savvy job seekers. The originator of Ecademy is Thomas Power, a very highly networked individual, and has to be a factor here. Incentive structures are needed for possible boomer participants to buy in. William Buist is still going and highly respected. But maybe more a disciplinarian than an innovator. Mike could be the key to involving other former Ecademy participants. I'd also love to see Mike mentoring a young, bright contact of mine, Naaif Ali, who could be a great first example. Naaif might love meeting the other older guys here as well. But he's not great at face to face meetings. He has a few things he needs to work on, including pacing himself. There's a smart lady, Annabel Kaye, good at getting in front of the BBC.

Possible Tech Partners
STUK are in the frame. Jack Parker is looking for Higher Innovation projects, he could be a better place to start. Base also have a workspace near Old Street. Kaitlin Argeaux of Crypto Mondays used to be in marketing, and I have a card from her senior partner. We could invite Steven Bartlett, from Dragons Den, wearing a cap and shades, to a Crypto Monday event "launching" this product!
No Brainer Opportunities
With STUK, Jack needs to be presented not with Tech build necessity, but a Smart Contract incentivising STUK to market this project into hard to reach places. Lisa Cameron can present this to UK parliament, but we need to give her a working demo, to bolster her belief that blockchain can do amazing things. We need a real life working example for her. Crypto Mondays could be a fantastic opportunity for marketing, and I know they know digital marketing agencies, who may also do a deal on their involvement. Smart contracts will be needed, for post-success payments with sunset clauses on total value and end dates.
Do Good, or Die Trying
It's a project we have to try, folk always regret the projects they didn't try! But, we must also strain every sinew to underpin success, and avoid failure. Risk management is a critical skill, and a highly alert and savvy CEO is a critical necessity. The business case here is simple, the opportunity pressing, with 14% graduate unemployment currently in the UK, and similar problems in the US. Unemployment is flowing right now with AI, but will ebb when the cost cutting phase gives way to the expansion phase.
Boomer Briefings
Any boomers on this project will need briefing, using the highly novel examples. But also simply to mention that blockchain has more utility than cryptocurrency, meme coins in particular, that gaming has much bigger potential, in education and employment, and to be fully transparent about all the partnership and payment arrangements. That's what blockchain is best at.
Guild Leaders
This project can also be modelled on the old Bankless DAO project, with a critical upgrade for version 2.0: Guilds must be self sustaining. Sub projects are fine, but shouldn't jeopardise the Guild. Sustainable Guilds are fine, and shouldn't jeopardise the overall platform.
