Issues with Kernel 4.9

I've updated my Pi and no longer able to use my SSD1306 with gaugette. I've updated gaugette and wiring pi, I've stoped getting the platform issues now but see the following.

Is this a wiringPi issue, this appears to have been fixed in the latest version

The error is definitely coming from WiringPi. There is an issue open for it:
WiringPi/WiringPi-Node#76
It does not appear to have been fixed yet.
