Workflow Question

I am wondering if you can provide some guidance on how you utilise this within a workflow.
currently i setup the single agent branch and i only had to remind cursor a couple of times that it should be following the tasks it set out itself. other than that it seemed to all go quite well.
except for trying to finalise the project.

As i am creating a python program i ended up with the venv / requirements.txt file contianing both the devin requirements aswell as those for my project.

As it runs in a dev container, which i had never used before so am very unfamiliar with, when it came time to create the dockerfile and compose ifles for testing Cursor cannot run any tests as docker is not available within docker.

so i am assuming im either missing a step or otherwise messing it up.

What is your workflow for this ?

and if i am running in a venv anyway is there any need for the dev container? it feels like if i just hadnt used it then everything would have worked fine and i could understand things a bit better,

That’s a good question. Unfortunately, as far as I know, Cursor doesn't support a dev container natively. That may be the reason why you experienced this. In the case that you don't need a container, probably directly developing on your machine is the most convenient way for Cursor. If you really want to develop in a container, the get-around for Cursor is you set up OpenSSH server on the container and manually SSH into it. Then the development experience will be the same. If you need native container support right there from the editor, WindSurf is usually a better choice.
