Description
As a downstream distribution packager for Fedora, I was just notified of a new release https://github.com/google/flatbuffers/releases/tag/v25.12.19-2026-02-06-03fffb2. I see that this is based on the current latest commit in the master branch, 03fffb2.
This release is unusually named as a post-release snapshot based on 25.12.19, which makes me wonder: is it supposed to represent the latest stable version of flatbuffers, to which downstream users should update? (If so, why not give it a real version number?) Or is it just a snapshot created for some specific purpose, and you would expect downstream users to stay on v25.12.19 and wait for the next “proper” release?
