Describe the bug

I am a Pro+ subscriber. I use CLI, one instance only. I'll be going fairly steady for a few hours with some short breaks and then I'll look back at the terminal and it'll be filled with these errors and crashed out in the middle of a session that I get charged for and then have to troubleshoot.
I can't control how many tokens the CLI is using, I just put in a request. Could you guys please try to deal with this more gracefully?

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Run any request in CLI, I was using Gemini 3 Pro.

Expected behavior

To finish the request without error. If you're going to rate limit me do it before I start not midway.

yea its really annoying .. i am getting often ... and i am paying for premium .. i just want no restrictions, and i am willing to pay ... now its not possible to work all day on a project . Rediculous

Same here. It's acting as a throttle for my agent requests even though I shouldn't be limited. I'm using my work account which has copilot enabled for the enterprise. Very frustrating!

The behavior described here has been addressed across two releases. Starting with v0.0.389, rate limit errors display a user-friendly message with retry timing instead of the raw JSON response. In v1.0.17, the repeated "Model call failed" lines during retries were suppressed so only a single final message appears. If you're still seeing the raw JSON output or repeated retry lines on a current version, please feel free to reopen this issue.
