People are saying they have gpt-5.3-codex but I don't. Anywhere. Not on github, not in the cli, not in vs code.

I managed to fix this! It seems the Codex 5.3 model is currently only available in the Pre-Release version of the extension.

I just clicked on "Switch to Pre-Release Version" (as shown in the screenshot), and the model appeared immediately.

I personally had it 2 days ago in vs code, but there you can only select high not xhigh.
Since it's a global setting it's probably limited to the lowest common denominator.
I have it in copilot cli and vs code currently.
Then it's available per repo as an agent but reasoning level is no adjustable which auto-disqualified using it, because codex is only good with xhigh thinking.
And it's not available in opencode either.

This has been fixed. The gpt-5.3-codex model is fully available in the CLI with support for all reasoning effort levels. The initial unavailability was a transient rollout-timing issue, as noted in the thread. If you believe this isn't resolved, please feel free to reopen this issue.
