Interpreting a Biplot #3

@jrede

Description

@jrede

From the rules for interpreting biplots: "The distance between samples is related to their multivariate similarity of the parts as ratios. If all components are relatively the same (ie, the ratios between all parts are identical), then two samples are in the same location."

Since each feature in a sample is divided by the geometric mean of the sample, I'm having trouble understanding why the distance between samples is interpreted as the ratio between features and not the geometric mean?

Thanks for any help! I've loved using these tutorials.
