corrupt GNU_PROPERTY_TYPE (5) size: 0x69

Hi,

after updating to Ubuntu 17.10, I get the following error when linking your minimal example of .note.gnu.source-id:

/usr/bin/ld: warning:git-version.c.o: corrupt GNU_PROPERTY_TYPE (5) size: 0x69

Do you know what could cause this?

Sorry, this code was written in 2014. The feature was not accepted upstream,
so I stopped working on it.

If I would guess then you didn't use the forked bin-utils. See https://github.com/gergap/binutils-gdb
The bin-utils need support for this new section in the ELF file.

It looks like binutils started verifying the GNU properties:

I think for ELF64 at least the alignment is too small.
