image orientation bug on CM12.1

I'm using CM12.1. When i take a photo in vertical mode, the app turns 90° the photo. But when i take in horizontal, all works.

hmm thats a hard problem, that i already had - it seems some cameras are rotating the picture, some dont, some only when screen rotation is enabled...

So let me get it right:

• you take a photo in landscape format (horizontal) and the picture appears in right in the app, top = up
• you take a photo in portrait format (vertical) and the picute appears wrongly in the app, top = left (or right)

Could you please provide me some more information?

• when reproducing this bug, do you have screen rotation enabled or disabled?
• what happens if you have the screen rotation locked vertical, horizontal or unlocked and take a picture in portrait and landscape mode?

The bug always happen with screen rotation enable and disable.
I tried all rotation modes but the bug is always present.

I was experiencing the bug myself on my phone, so i start developing a fix for that, when I'm ready I'll ask you to test a build...

i was about to tackle your problem, but unfortunately yours doesn't seem to be mine... (mine is a bug in buggy OxygenOS), so i cannot reproduce your bug at the moment. I'm sorry :/

Could you please provide me with some more information?

• which phone are you using?
• which camera app? (builtin or another?)
• could you send me both, one picture that you took in landscape mode and one in portrait mode? -> gabmtuc gmail (dot) com
  • i want to readout the exif information so that we can rotate the picuture accordingly...
