Imported log entries are not uploaded to LOTW or eQSL

What happened? How can it be reproduced? Provide as much information as possible.

Importing QSO works fine for the most part, but the LOTW and eQSL send status always get set to "N". I have to update every imported QSO to set those values to "Q" in order for them to be sent to LOTW and eQSL. Other providers are set correctly.

@aa5sh That's true, but I do have ones that are intentionally marked with 'N' and I do not want to include those.

In that case one thing to consider is to set those to a ‘I’ which accord to Adif is Ignore. Not an ideal solution but may work for you for a quicker resolution. What application are you using to create the ADI that you are importing from?

@aa5sh I don't really need a quick solution, I've already been dealing with this for awhile. It doesn't seem like the ideal behavior in the application so I wanted to report it. I usually import from fldigi or other applications that don't send over log files well in real time. It is the same for any application that only includes a minimal set of adif fields. The import seems to take my preferences for everything else that isn't specified in the imported adif file except lotw and eqsl.

@aa5sh : This is such a common report that this ADIF “feature” needs to be compensated for somehow in QLog. What quickly comes to mind is adding an option to set default values for the “Sent” fields during import. I will try to come up with a clear and understandable way to handle this.

However, this is definitely not a QLog bug. ADIF defines it this way: if an ADIF file does not contain the Sent fields, the default value is N. This is a rather unfortunate choice.

I have had some further discussions about default values on the ADIF maling list, but there are ADIF voters who unfortunately only accept their own point of view.

I will try to improve this somehow in QLog.

As a workaround I used adifmt to set the LOTW_QSL_SENT and EQSL_QSL_SENT to the (very minimal) ADIF export from tlf:

adifmt edit --add EQSL_QSL_SENT=Q --add LOTW_QSL_SENT=Q eakingofspain.adi > eakingofspain-edit.adi

Now after import of the modified file the state is as I want.
