Leftover data unremoveable if flatpak name changes #207

@hnasheralneam

Description

@hnasheralneam
  • I have read the README.md document
  • I am using the latest version of Warehouse (2.1.0)
  • I am using the Flatpak package of Warehouse
  • I have not found any other opened issues on the same topic

Describe the issue in detail

For apps that have changed their name (specifically Zen browser and Freecad for me) attempting to remove the lingering data for these applications, both before and after deleting the application, fails silently. Both of these apps used a symbolic link to keep the data in the same location while the flatpak itself is in the new directory with a different name.

If applicable, provide steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Install a flatpak
  2. Wait for the flatpak to have its name changed in an update? I'm not sure if there is another way to simulate this, or if every flatpak that changes its name uses the same method (symbolic link to the old data location).

Run flatpak run io.github.flattool.Warehouse in a terminal and if applicable, show any output

Unfortunately, I've already manually removed both symbolic links with rm.

Sorry, I don't have much experience with how flatpaks work, but ran into this issue consistently across multiple versions. Thank you for your work developing this helpful app.
