When attempting to type in Japanese using the standard macOS IME within the Freewrite application, the typed characters (Hiragana) disappear almost immediately after being typed, before the user has a chance to press Space or Enter to convert them into Kana/Kanji or finalize the input. Often, only the very last typed character might remain briefly, or the input field effectively clears itself character by character as you type.
This prevents any meaningful input in Japanese, making the application unusable for Japanese writing.
