Is there any alternative to the discord programs listed in the wiki? None of them work anymore D:

I used pywal-discord but vencord stopped loading the theme and both it and wal-discord haven't has a commit in a while. Are there any alternatives to customizing discord?

yeh there is quite the list of themes that don't work, i've used pywal-discord wal-discord, been meaning to try themecord and walcord but seems none has addressed the visual refresh...

before the discord visual refresh i was using discord-wal-theme-template and later DNOME for something that looked more at home with the adwaita visual style as dnome can take colors from the gtk3/4 theme

the visual refresh hit discord themeing hard, personally been meaning to try and update dnome based on other themes that managed to adapt to the visual refresh like gord but that effort, for any discord theme seems like it will be a lot of "fun"...

for the time being i'm just living with default discord as a manner to nag myself into getting through my todo list and eventually to it...

On a sidenote, @danihek i've been looking into hellwal for features to stealimplement and the neon mode caught my eye, on the other end feel free to lift any idea from either pywal16 or any of the supporting repos that i maintain for it.

I know this pain, its hard to support all kinds of software and make it easy for enduser, currently the thing I'm struggling the most with is gtk. Since hellwal is in C and I want to keep it minimal and without deps, I just cannot use some libraries to reload it for example.

I'll probably have to create some scripts and workarounds.... - but most ppl dont care about all of that and I think it's better and easier to use pywal16 for popularity and better software compatibility

Haha I'm glad hellwal got noticed :D - feel free to steal anything you want from the source code, and neon mode is basically playing with HSL saturation and lightness for half of the color palette - I use it myself it's really cool

ah yeh, my current scheme for supporting gtk inside pywal16 is to just not, at all, instead i got 2 scripts crudely cobbled together to theme gtk, first i take the pywal json theme and create a gradience template with build-gradience.py which contains additional css to add more colors to adw-gtk3, but gradience is dead so i had to roll out my own script to take the gradience theme and spit out the correct css to where it belongs gradience2css.py

as for reloading, well on my setup i use the xsettingsd settings daemon and got yet another crudely cobbled together script that i just noticed is my personal version overriden from what should have been the general purpose one so as it is on the repo will not work outside of my machine... well i was also thinking of taking a look at the bunsenlabs gtk reload script bl-reload-gtk23 but that is appended to my todo list for the future as with many things...
