Make sure your app package name have a name of an app that is published on store. Also you should own that package

Enable developer mode on play store and enable internal app sharing

Install app with lower version number from internal-app-sharing page

Go to app link with higher app version

You will see update option. Don´t update

Open app you will see in app update
