Persist configs added with wg-quick up after disconnecting from that connection from wingpanel

Problem

I found that after adding the config with wg-quick (e.g. wg-quick up <my-connection-name>), it connects successfully and I see the connected VPN in the wingpanel
When I click on it to disconnect, it disappears.

Proposal

Instead I want the entry to stay so I can reconnect comfortably from wingpanel at any time
