3D modelling produces invalid STL file

I added a circle (which by the way looks like an octagon), saved it as a STL, and then when requesting GCODE it opened https://icesl.loria.fr/slicecrafter/ which ignored the STL file. Cura reported "invalid file".

I cannot pre-produce the bug by making a circle and uploading the stl file.

I believe this is lower priority than most open issues.

I tried creating a cyliner and creating its GCode. SliceCrafter hung and did not produce any GCode. Maybe I am using it wrong?
