As I know, the .NET team is actively working on CoreCLR support for platforms that don’t allow JIT/executable code generation - namely WebAssembly and iOS. This requires a new CoreCLR interpreter and other runtime changes because the traditional JIT can’t run on those platforms. That work is being tracked toward the .NET 11 timeframe but is not yet a completed product. Based on roadmap discussions and external reporting, a preview of the new CoreCLR runtime for Wasm is expected in the .NET 11 cycle, but the full shipping package (with solid tooling, runtime, and stable workload support) is likely to land later - with some projections pointing at .NET 12 for broader availability. |
