Cannot open resource with notebook editor type 'polyglot-notebook', please check if you have the right extension installed and enabled.

I’m experiencing the same issue with the same system configuration.

I’ve tried the following without success:

• Reinstalled VS Code using the system installer

• Saved a workspace and installed the extension at the workspace level

• Added

  "dotnet-interactive.notebookFileRoot": "${workspaceFolder}"

  to User Settings (JSON)

Unfortunately, none of these attempts resolved the issue.

If you want it more concise or more informal, I can adjust the tone.

I faced a similar issue. After successfully installing the extension, I kept the auto-update option checked. When a new release became available, the extension stopped working. I solved this by manually removing the folder ms-dotnettools.dotnet-interactive-vscode inside C:\Users\<MyUser>\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\globalStorage, then uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, this solution only works temporarily. Once VS Code is closed and reopened (with the same folder), the problem returns and *.dib files can no longer be opened with the polyglot-notebook editor.

Same issue here. The problem started to appear after installing the latest VS Code update.
