Description
First of all - Love the work you do! Please keep it up
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
AWS Sagemaker Studio (among others) use an open source port of VS Code. The extensions in the open source version have to be published to the vsx registry - https://open-vsx.org/ - It would be great to be able to use Polyglot notebooks from there as I don't think there's anything, in theory, stopping it
Describe the solution you'd like
Publish the Polyglot Notebooks extension to the registry following https://github.com/EclipseFdn/open-vsx.org/wiki/Publishing-Extensions as part of the CI/CD pipeline
Describe alternatives you've considered
Less alternatives, more reasons you might have already considered not to publish as an open-source extension
- Installing .NET in the lifecycle configurations is a bit fiddly, so if the issue is the C# extension has to be installed, I could understand that being large in scope.
- SageMaker announced in December some extra polyglot stuff of their own on the horizon, I don't know how this will look in a year.
Happy to take a look at doing this myself as much as I can - though probably the credentials will need to be done by someone on the dotnet team
Thanks!
Alex
