System.Linq.AsyncEnumerable Error

Alas, this project is getting worse and worse, especially in terms of support for .NET 10!

Please complete the following:

• OS

👋🏻 Hey @bicijinlian - just passing through (not a maintainer - so someone else can correct me if wrong or not the right guidance)

Have you had a look at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/compatibility/core-libraries/10.0/asyncenumerable ? There's a known breaking change in .NET 10. According to https://endjin.com/blog/2025/11/ix-v7-dotnet-10-linq-iasyncenumerable the System.Linq.Async package will be deprecated soon.

As an immediate fix for your code snippet, the following should work:

await foreach (var number in Enumerable.Range(1, 5).ToAsyncEnumerable()) {
  Console.WriteLine(number);
}

I think there is probably an extra thing that needs doing to make ToAsyncEnumerable be available with no extra package as it should be in the System.Linq namespace now, and isn't.

But hopefully this will help you in the mean time

Thank you. I understand what you mean and am aware of the relationship between System.Linq.Async and System.Linq.AsyncEnumerable. I know that in .NET 10, the System.Linq.AsyncEnumerable library is built-in. The code can run normally in VS; however, in Ployglot Notebooks, whether I explicitly reference or not explicitly reference System.Linq.Asyncenumerable, there is an error. It should be an issue with the interactive library.
