Poor UX

I tried to setup Varlock in a simple Node script on my Mac using 1Password and had to give up.
There is just not good docs or output to debug what is happening.
As far as I can tell the op CLI is never run and nothing is telling me why.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, but pretty frustrating and disappointed this wasn't easier to use.

I'm sorry to hear that was your experience. If you're willing to share anything else (specific versions, your .env.schema) we'd be happy to help but I understand if you've already moved on.

Someone else had a similarly confusing experience recently with the op cli not being called. The issue for them was that existing env vars act as overrides, and they had already set the var in their environment. Would love to understand what / where things went wrong for you so we can make it better.

Hmmm, this may have been it. I won't be able to get back to the project for a week or two, but I will try to confirm the issue when I'm back.

@cdeutsch - I added an indicator in varlock load that shows which items are being overridden. Also added a new varlock explain KEY command which will show all of the various definitions for an item and how they are being merged together.

If you were having the problem I think you were, these two features would definitely help!
