Add --no-cast or similar for development?

While I'm developing a demo for cast2asciinema, I want to run the demo file without casting to asciinema, but I would like to develop using the final syntax, ie say/run/etc. Is there a workflow for this?

Along these lines (this is how I developed)

/home/austin/devel/demos/sfn-2025/run-demo-dev.sh

# Development wrapper - run cast script without screencaster

# Simple say function - just prints the message
say() {
    echo ">> $1"
}

# Simple run function - echoes then executes the command
run() {
    echo "$ $1"
    eval "$1"
}

# Source the demo script
source duct-datalad-demo.sh

just make cast_dry to your liking ... I think I even once voiced for it, but then we ended up just using cast2script to see what would be done
