Updating to an Empty Node

In discussions with the OFN Dev team, I think there may be an issue around how to propagate updates for removal of values.

The Connector currently doesn't export empty nodes, so how do we send an update that is an empty value? How should we process this? As a deletion? Even if it's for example removal of a stockLimit?

Is this a bug with the way the connector exports (or doesn't) empty nodes, or is it a wider issue with the standard?

Over two years have passed since this issue was raised. We worked around the stockLimit issue by declaring negative values as "unlimited stock". There was also a proposal to define the stock management mode separately.

But the general problem lies within the Semantic Web. It only contains statements but the absence of a statement is doesn't mean anything. And so far, we just haven't implemented deletion of many attributes. For example, the absence of a logo attribute could mean that the image file should be removed, or not.

The standard could define an empty node. But I think that's for the ontology, not a specific Connector library.
