Add script or command to switch package manager to bun or pnpm (was: Consider switching to Bun)

Switch from npm to bun for package management and look for opportunities to use any Bun APIs.

Okay, thinking about this further, I don't think we should use any Bun APIs just yet. And I wonder if it actually makes more sense to include some kind of init script in addition to the /init Claude Code command which simply replaces all instances of npm in the codebase with the preferred tooling (eg pnpm, npm or bun). NPM still makes sense as a default here. Although I suspect future projects I build on this personally will use bun.

I'd prefer not to use Bun after Bun's acquisition. Unclear where the future lies with bun in my opinion. (obv it's your template; thanks for this it's been great so far!)

+1 on the init script. I usually like making a bin/ dir in the root of the source tree.

I'm actually fairly happy with bun's acquisition (largely for the same reasons Theo Browne outlines here), but the real question here is: Should a template have an opinion on this at all?

To which my answer is "no". Except it kinda has to in this template because aside from tauri.conf.json, package.json and probably some of the GH Actions workflows... Having AI-facing documentation which mentions the wrong package manager is likely to cause issues.

The obvious solution to this is to turn this template into a generator, but that's probably more work than I wanna put in right now. So perhaps a shell script and/or Claude Code slash command to /change-package-manager is the best super-easy option?

I contributed a lot to cookiecutter-django, and having too many options is a pretty heavy burden.

Agree, sticking to defaults is nice and easy to switch to anything non-default fairly fast.

At this point, I'm sure Claude Code would know how to switch to pnpm, not sure about bun though. It can't be hard for a dev themself though either.
