At plugfest in milan we tried to use the same local setup that we used at the london plugfest this year:
- have a domain with full configuration access
- use lets encrypt DNS-01 verification method to generate certificates
- configure domain to resolve to local network IP of the host machine, running the test runner
- configure the test runner with the domain and certificates
This approach did not work at the plugfest in milan, as the default DNS server at the facility did not resolve the domain to the local IP, but to the facilities external public IP. Manually configuring a device to use a public DNS server resolved the issue.
