Move tab left/right not working

Tried meta+ctrl+left/right arrow as well as alt+left/right. Refreshed multiple tabs and restarted browser, nothing worked.

Hmm....just tested on the latest and it seems to be working for me. You tried a key combo that you're positive isn't conflicting with something else?

It does look like the main issue was a conflict with Chrome's native previous/next commands. (I learned that two pairs of shortcuts natively switch tabs on Chrome for Mac, one with tab and one with the arrows.) I also realized that it was important to turn on "Active in inputs" for this setting. There could be some actions for which this setting should be on by default. Am I correct in thinking that alt is the only modifier key that performs a function in text inputs?

One place I'm still seeing an issue with prev/next tab is on chrome:// links. Not a big deal.

Also worth mentioning that prev/next tab shortcuts enter collapsed tab groups but do not collapse the groups on exit.

Yeah, sadly nothing we can do about that if you set up your shortcut from within the Shortkeys settings. But if it's a key combo that is supported from Chrome's built in "keyboard shortcuts in extensions" thing then that's an option which would support chrome:// tabs.

I know your idea is that they re-collapse the groups on exit, and I'd like that as well, but since that seemed to be pretty tricky to get right, would your next best behavior be that it skips right over collapsed tab groups?

Haha good to know! Hmm perhaps those shortcuts could show a modal when selected that explains the choice between setting a more flexible keybinding in shortkeys vs more global behavior from the shortcuts page. If shortcuts page is chosen, it could link directly to that page.

I am unwilling to decide 😄 Is it still tricky with the fixed bug in Chrome’s latest version?

really unfortunate that using the shortkeys ui does not work for any chrome:// pages... would love the import/export feature to transfer these settings to other profiles, ssbs, and devices (i don't use or want an external browser sync). at least setting keyboard shortcuts works in the native (e.g. for brave browser) brave://extensions/shortcuts page, which even includes the internal pages.. but there's no easy way to backup/restore these settings, that i've found.

Side note, upon auto-update to shortkeys v5... i lost every keyboard shortcut mapped to Shortkeys (Custom Keyboard Shortcuts) in brave://extensions/shortcuts, except cmd-left and cmd-right (macOS ) for whatever reason... first time i've had a browser extension lose custom settings on upgrade. for something like ssbs (site specific browser apps), i started with cloning a base template to make many of them... but i can't simply replace the entire profile for each ssb app that has been created since... so now i have to manually remap each and every one (including each chromium profile) across many devices. i get that this may not be the standard workflow for others.. but still, this has never happened with years of use, and created a lot of excess work. 😔

while being tested, was this anticipated? there was no obvious way of knowing that shortkeys mapped brave://extensions/shortcuts would have been purged.

Hey @crittermike @dannypernik , I'm having the same issue. Its only for those two commands too. Move Tab left/right. Using this chrome version: 146.0.7680.164 (Official Build) (arm64). Other shortcuts are working fine

Very weirdly enough actually, specific tabs I can move now, but some I can't. For example, my chat gpt tab can move around, but new tabs cannot. That's just one example
